The Rajkumar Hirani directed film held on strongly on Wednesday, showed a small growth in business on Thursday and then had plenty of holidays (Christmas, Sunday, New Year) in Week 2.
#Bajrangi bhaijan promo update
Update 23 July : For the first time since its release, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has fallen short of the Wednesday collections of Aamir Khan’s PK. In fact, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has beaten PK on each of its first 5 days at the box office. While the Salman starrer has collected Rs 151.05 crore in 5 days, the industry’s highest grosser had collected Rs 135.79 crore. Update 22 July: Bajrangi Bhaijaan continues to lead PK at the end of Day 5. Bookmark it and visit us again to find out if Bajrangi Bhaijaan can become the highest grosser of all time. The day-wise comparison between PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be interesting to follow in the next few days. Bajrangi Bhaijaan has performed much better than PK at single-screens, so the all India average ticket price of the Salman starrer is lower.

The multiplex ticket prices of both films were about the same, although at select premium multiplexes the tickets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan were more expensive. Bajrangi Bhaijaan has two open weeks, after which Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam and Ritesh Deshmukh’s Bangistan are scheduled to hit screens. PK also had the advantage of 3 open weeks at the box office, before the release of Tevar in Week 4. The days in between were holidays for many schools and offices. The song may have some meaning in the context of the film's narrative, but as a standalone number, it has little impact.PK, on the other hand, had plenty of holidays starting with Christmas (7th day of release) and New Year.

The album concludes with the rather ordinary Zindagi, which is too sombre for a film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Written by Nilesh Mishra, this situational song is sung by Zubin Nautiyal. It is sung by Mohit Chauhan, but doesn't really work. Pritam puts together a song for kids, which is suitably titled Chicken Song. But it is surprising that there is no female accompaniment in this Shabbir Ahmed written song.įor, this desi dance number with the characteristic Pritam touch could have done with a bindaas female voice since Kareena is shaking a leg along with Salman in the film as the song plays. The Mika Singh sung Aaj Ki Party elevates the proceedings instantaneously. The singer is totally uninhibited in this full-on energy number. It runs for a really long run time as Salman goes on his journey to find the Pakistani household of the little girl in the film. If you are fond of qawwalis with a devotional touch, this Kausar Munir written number should suit the bill. The Sufi sounding Bhar Do Jholi Meri is sung by Adnan Sami. Tu Chahiye, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, has Salman Khan serenading Kareena Kapoor Khan in the voice of Atif Aslam.Ītif has a unique way of singing and he lives up to expectations with this soft number. For that, one has to credit its singers: Vishal Dadlani, Nakash Aziz, Pritam Chakraborty, Url and Aditya Pushkarna.

High on rhythm, it plays on in your mind after just one hearing.

Selfie Le Le Re is the right song to introduce Salman Khan with a bang. Since the film is aimed at a family audience, with kids expected to lap up Salman's antics, the Mayur Puri written Selfie sets the mood. It could be because a number of lyricists (Mayur Puri, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Kausar Munir and Shabbir Ahmed) get to write a song apiece. And it's a fun number to kick-start the proceedings.īut as it turns out, the music isn't typically Salman Khan style.
